Senior Pelvic Floor & Continence Physiotherapist

Founder & Director of Fitt Physiotherapy

Rachel Fitt is a Senior Pelvic Floor and Continence Physiotherapist, founder of Fitt Physiotherapy and one of Melbourne's most trusted women's health physiotherapists.

Her journey into pelvic health began in 2014, not in a clinic, but in a university corridor. A casual conversation introduced her to a field she'd never heard of, despite years of studying exercise and sports science. The fact that pelvic health had barely been mentioned in her education didn't frustrate her, it lit a fire.

She'd seen it firsthand in sport. Urinary incontinence among athletes was common, whispered about and almost never addressed. Rachel decided that needed to change.

In 2019 she founded Fitt Physiotherapy, initially as a sole trader with a phone and a lot to say about women's health. During COVID she poured herself into education and awareness, building a community of women who deserved better information. What started as just Rachel has grown into a team of eight, physiotherapists, a clinical psychologist and an admin team, all united by the same mission she started with.

Rachel holds a Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne and a Doctor of Physiotherapy from Bond University, and has been working in women's health since she graduated. She has completed extensive post-graduate training in urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pessary management, genito-pelvic pain, birth preparation and beyond, and continues to update her clinical knowledge every year.

She is also a mum of two, both born via planned caesarean, and brings genuine lived experience to her work in birth preparation and postpartum recovery. That perspective shapes everything she does.

Rachel's approach is evidence-based, deeply individualised and grounded in the belief that every woman deserves to feel informed, supported and empowered, not just managed. She creates a space where the things that feel too embarrassing or too private to talk about anywhere else can be spoken about openly.

Outside of the clinic Rachel is a runner, a coffee lover, a dedicated mum and the proud owner of a golden retriever named Charlie.

Rachel’s Mission

To create a safe and supportive environment where women can openly discuss the things that make them feel vulnerable, anxious or embarrassed and leave feeling empowered, informed and cared for. Every patient deserves to live a life free from pelvic floor dysfunction. Rachel is committed to making that possible.
