Rachel Fitt

Senior Pelvic Floor & Continence Physiotherapist

Director of Fitt Physiotherapy

Rachel's journey into pelvic health began in 2014, when a casual conversation at university introduced her to the field of Pelvic Health Physiotherapy. Despite her background in Exercise and Sports Science, Rachel was surprised by her lack of awareness regarding pelvic health, a crucial aspect of well-being that had barely been touched upon in her education.

This revelation sparked a deep passion in Rachel to bridge this gap. She recognised the widespread nature of pelvic health issues, particularly among women, and was driven to raise awareness and educate others. This passion was further fuelled by her own experiences with athletic training, where she noticed the prevalence of Urinary Incontinence among athletes but found a lack of open discussion on the topic.

Rachel pursued further education to address this gap in knowledge, graduating from Melbourne University's Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy in 2019. Since then, she has continued to expand her expertise through numerous post-graduate courses focusing on Urinary Incontinence, Pelvic Organ Prolapse, vaginal pessary management, and Genito-Pelvic Pain Disorder.

Her approach to pelvic health is both inclusive and individualised, emphasising collaboration with patients to create evidence-based treatment plans that align with their personal goals. Rachel's recent experience as a mother has deepened her empathy and understanding of the physical and emotional demands of pregnancy, birth, and parenthood.

Outside of her professional life, Rachel enjoys spending time with her family, including her golden retriever, Charlie. She also loves catching up with friends over coffee and relaxing by the ocean.
