Pelvic Floor & Continence Physiotherapist
Pelvic Floor & Continence Physiotherapist
Taylor Nixon is a Pelvic Floor and Continence Physiotherapist with a Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne and a deeply personal reason for the work she does.
Taylor lives with endometriosis. She is an Endo Warrior.
That experience, navigating pain, advocating for herself within a healthcare system that doesn't always listen, and finding the support that genuinely helps, has shaped her into the physiotherapist she is today. When women come to Taylor with endometriosis, they are not sitting across from someone who has read about their experience. They are sitting across from someone who has lived it.
Taylor's journey into pelvic health began during her physiotherapy studies, with clinical placement at Cabrini Malvern opening her eyes to the depth and importance of women's health physiotherapy. After graduating she pursued her Graduate Certificate in Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy and has continued building her clinical expertise ever since.
Her areas of special interest include endometriosis and chronic pelvic pain, bladder health across the lifespan, sexual pain, and preparation for and recovery from childbirth. For women living with endometriosis, which affects approximately 1 in 9 Australian women, Taylor's combination of clinical expertise and lived experience makes her uniquely placed to help.
Taylor is known for her warmth, her engaging personality and her ability to put patients immediately at ease. She takes a genuinely collaborative approach, taking the time to understand each woman's individual goals, obstacles and experience before building a treatment plan that is truly tailored to her. Patient education is at the heart of everything she does. She believes that when women truly understand what is happening in their bodies, they are empowered to take charge of their own health.
Outside of work Taylor loves reading, walking in nature, Pilates, and catching up with friends at book club or cocktail nights, sometimes both.
